Looking down at the base of the two drive bays you'll see that the core is secured by two bolts at the base of each bay. These are marked here and should be removed, so the core can be removed from the base. Note that one bay doesn't have a SATA connector! This seems extreme cost-cutting (or more likely deliberate crippling) to reduce the disk capacity of the low-end models.
The small white sticker that you can see on the top of this disk bay says "This model supports two hard drives. Please do not install a hard drive in position 3."
