Moose (Alces alces andersoni), female, Cape Breton NP, Nova Scotia, Canada

The moose of Cape Breton are a different subspecies from the Maine moose and the other moose populations in the northeast and eastern Canada (Alces alces americana). The moose was re-established on Cape Breton Island after being hunted to extinction by early settlers. The released moose were from Alberta, Canada.
