Eastern bought or leased 3 former Alitalia DC10-30's so they could fly long-haul international routes like National Airlines had been doing with their DC10-30's since the mid-1970's. These DC10-30's were placed on several routes and the ones I remember were the Miami to London-Gatwick route and the New York-JFK and Miami to Buenos Aires, Argentina routes.
