Clarence E. Decker

Bloomingburg - Clarence E. Decker died Sunday, March 7, at 11 p.m. at his home near Bloomingburg. He was born in Waverly, N.Y., July 8, 1853, the son of Joseph H. and Nancy E Decker, both deceased. He is survived by one brother, D. L. Decker, and a sister, Sarah E. Decker, both of 45 South street, Middletown; his widow, Mary C. Foss Decker, and four sons: Clarence E. Decker, 61 Broad street, Middletown; William H. and H. Eugene, at home, and H. Howard Decker, of Brooklyn.
Mr. Decker married September 11, 1877. He went to Middletown when he was about 18 years old and lived most of his life in that city. For a number of years he was in the retail grocery business in Middletown, and afterwards in the wholesale fruit and produce business in New York city, until six years ago, when he retired from active business to his farm, where he lived until the end.
Deceased was a member of the Knights of Pythias and Pythian Sisters of Middletown, Bullville Grange and also a member of the Reformed Church of Bloomingburg, of which he was active worker.
