They served up a grubby Class 365 to whisk us non stop to Kings Cross. And quite a hairy ride it was, once on the East Coast mainline it thrashed its way down to London shaking and rattling all the way

Interestingly this was a driver operated train. As we transferred from another train we did not pass thru the ticket gates. So we boarded this train and travelled to London and no ticket check was made, and no barriers at Kings Cross in operation.....you could have a free ride for the cost of a platform ticket.
