Class 172 on the Goblin line

So here we are at Barking where the Gents, thankfully were open!
.
This line uses Class 172 DMUs for the service which is , from a Northerners Point of view, unbelievable.
.
Here we have a suburban line where trains trundle round at a max of 45 mph and it has what can only be described as a "luxury train" compared to the Up t'north's "142s and 144s"
.
So a trundle round North East London where most passengers are on the train for no longer than 20 mins, warrants a good quality train yet Southport to Leeds, Carlisle to Newcastle, Sheffield to York, Manchester or Huddersfield get "buses on a freight car chassis" for trains.

So much for the Northern Powerhouse!

My namesake Mr Andrew Jones has a lot of thinking to do.....to make up for broken promises.

As The Who sang..."we won't get fooled again" Mr Cameron.

So that was the last of the Overground for the day, our return to base in Paddington was to be completed by C2C, another TOC new to us and Fenchurch Street.

Marks for London Overground.....have to be 8/10. Good frequent trains on acceptable stock with helpful staff....but it was a Sunday....Monday morning might not be so comfortable
