Public Enemy

Seagulls have emerged as a public enemy this summer with stories of them making off with small dogs in England while a cyclist and a swimmer were attacked by gulls in Ireland.

I thought I hadn't seen this one before; from the absence of comments it must be one that you added later out of sequence.

Seagulls... making off with small dogs?? (Double checks the exif... no, not April 1.) Even Lilly could deal with a seagull. (She thinks she can take on (much larger) cockatoos as well, but that involves them sitting on a pole while she barks at them and they look down with a "Yeah? And what are you gonna do about it?" expression.) I suspect that these stories may be from either News Corpse or the National Enquirer, sandwiched in between the story of the woman who was impregnated by aliens during her abduction and the story of Jimmy Hoffa's zombie terrorising a small town in Wisconsin.

I've never heard of them intentionally dive bombing anyone either; magpies yes, but the gulls of my acquaintance (of which there have been many, since they tend to be quite photogenic) can't be bothered. The biggest menace they create here involves gull poop. With the tentative raise of the leg this one seems way more worried about you than you are of it. (Though the low EV does give this one a slightly shadowy air of menace.)
