Seeing as you can't get round to electrifying the TransPennine and East Midlands routes, maybe the spare time could be used to stretch and renovate the weed covered platforms that you have fenced off to save money.....nothing like forward thinking is there! You can start with the Penistone line and while you are at it provide more double track sections to permit increased services. Bear this in mind when you finalise plans for the upgrade of Huddersfield station as well.
