The 3rd Winchester battlefield is about 4/5ths gone to development. Only the northern portion of the morning fighting area is preserved and that is due to the efforts of the Shenandoah Valley Battlefield Association and the Civil War Preservation Trust. These 2 groups have done more to save this precious irreplaceable land than any single entity. We are very blessed that they care! You should too!
