Actually, the 1/500th second exposure time belies the fact that they were spinning quite madly. At the time I was unaware of the Rocky fire, which the smoke was from. No doubt that wind had a lot to do with its rapid growth.

I would guess with all those fires out your way, it's a relief to see the turbines at a stand still. No wind is good news for now. The smoke does make for some brilliant sundowns and sun rises.
