This small butterfly is one of the "gossamer-winged" butterflies; it is more closely related to the blues and hairstreaks than it is to the Monarch or fritillaries. I saw it nectaring on Broadleaf Arrowhead, which I've never seen before. Unfortunately it did not stay long enough for the entire group to see.
