One of the largest skimmers in our region, the Slaty Skimmer is found at Morris Island and Petrie Island along the Ottawa River, but not in any of the other bays in between (i.e. Mud Lake and Shirley's Bay). Males and mature females are easily recognizable by their cobalt blue bodies and dark eyes.
