Pensacola NAS
Pensacola, Florida
Originally designed as a nuclear strike bomber; this aircraft 'lost its job' on the same day as the AJ-2 Savage; and Vigilantes reverted to the reconnaissance role.
Note: Many of the aircraft sitting on the ramp outside the restoration hanger complex at Pensacola are in very "weathered" shape...or worse. In time; all will be restored to factory fresh (perhaps not flyable, but certainly cosmetically) condition; and wearing the appropriate markings and paint appropriate for their operational service time period.
