Safe & Free After Losing a Tail

My Backyard, Sugar Land Texas

This Anole lost his tail - most likely to a bird. He escaped - Free!
A new tail has grown back, but as you can see... it's gray.
It doesn't have the Chameleon-like ability to change color like the rest of the Anole does.
Anoles can change colors between green, brown and gray.
I believe the new tail will eventually change color.

I hope he stays safe. It is amazing they can grow their tails back. Well captured and focused in the plant. V

Great capture of cute lizard & nice educational caption. These look to be what we got as kids and we did call them chameleons. (I think chameleons are much larger with 'horns') Great job being able to spot this guy. Excellent!!!

It took me forever to find his tail ;-), but yes, I see. Great capture, and I hope it eventually will change color. V.

What a clever little thing...though it needs to hide itself a little better with you around 😀
