In the early 19th century, a German nun named Anne Catherine Emmerich had a series of visions about Mary's house. In 1881, this house was discovered based on her description. Although the Catholic Church never authenticated this house, it attracted a steady flow of pilgrims.
Photography is not allowed inside this house turned chapel.
