Dad made some improvements to sister Panthor's outdoor enclosure. First, he dropped the wire bottoms out of the lower dog crates so that she can enjoy the cool grass without anything in the way. Then he used electrical conduit connectors to close the open poles running through the enclosure.
The front protrudes a short distance from the enclosure so that it can be used as a handle. Wheels were added to the back end so that instead of dragging the entire assembly across the lawn when it needs to be moved, it can now be moved much more easily. [The wheels aren't visible in this image, but they are there.]
He also added a higher shelf in the top dog crate, so that she can more easily watch the birds and squirrels at the bird feeders a short distance away.
The red pads you see provide dry stepping areas whenever the grass is wet. Full-size foam pads with "S" hooks are used to provide movable shade during the day so that she never has to be in direct sunlight. As you probably know, it's very important to keep us pets cool when we're outside in the heat.
