New Litter Box

No, no, this isn't me doing any unpleasant business for the camera! I'm just checking out my new litter box.

As many older kitties do, I have arthritis in my lower spine, hips, and upper legs. That makes it difficult for me to get into and out of a litter box. It's also sometimes a challenge to squat properly.

Dad bought a 16" square base for a potted plant and filled it with an inch of litter. The sides of the base are short so it's easy to get into. The whole thing was placed in the plastic bottom of a doggie crate, just in case I don't get everything contained inside the box.

We've been using dental bibs (what the dental assistant puts on your chest when you go to the dentist) to catch any overflow, but this has since been upgraded to unscented doggie training pads.
