Now this is artistic photography at its finest! I had to do a quick doubletake to realise what I was looking at. It's amazing that you've managed to capture that, just at the right place and time. Composing this would have been easy either given the very shallow depth of field; it's one of those "just the right place and time" things. The background is just perfect to show off the details of the branches and the critter.

I tried a similar shot yesterday, and will be posting it. Although my dragonfly was on my truck's antenna. It was hard for autofocus to get him, so I had to switch to manual and was hoping that he wouldn't fly off while I was fooling with the camera. :) You got a nice result here. V
