Ships sit High in Swollen Mississippi River at Bonnet Carre' Spillway

Bonnet Carre' Spillway, Louisiana

As the River water seeps through the Spillway locks on its way to Lake Pontchartrain all eyes are on the River which is never this high in July. There are no plans to open the Spillway yet. Not good in hurricane season.

Lots of water but not in the places that could use some of it...

A fascinating shot of those ships at eye level!

Here in Canada too, lots of rain in the east and very little out west and mid-north where huge forest fires are out of control.

Thank goodness we aren't contributing, the East coast sure has however. Good luck!

It's such a strange year! Out west in Oregon we need rain, which we usually have a lot of.
