at first glance Opuwo (ca.17000 pop.) is just a dusty (in winter) T-crossing
we pass on a sunday, we see a spread of small concrete buildings and huts
people in the street are clearly at leisure and in their best clothes
an interesting mix of tribes: Himba, Herero and modern young people eyeing each other

but we press on to reach Epupa before dark, we'll pass here again on the way south
