Thomas and Anne-Rose Walther are the third generation of Walthers to run the hotel, opened in 1907. Previously called the Palace Hotel, it occupies a sunny position at the end of the village of Pontresina (7 kilometres away from St. Moritz). The hotel has been a member of the Relais & Châteaux group since 1993. The Art Nouveau elements lend a certain flair to the building, a reminder of the vibrancy of the Belle Époque and bygone 'art de vivre' - the art of enjoying life to the fullest.
