Dear Sir / Madam

Before receiving your note, I was a free spirited photographer, sharing my observations with other like-minded people. After receiving your ‘note’ I felt that I have lost the freedom to express my feelings and thoughts. I do not think that your note gives a fair or provides an appropriate reason for the action you have taken.

I can only assume that the reason for your action is that some individuals complained about the links I put under my image, (Fur Das Kind - Displaced). However, I am not sure what you meant by saying “illegal or prohibited materials” as all of the links under this image (Fur Das Kind - Displaced) and other images I have on Flickr come from other websites, e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Tumblr, mainstream News agencies; such as CNN, Al Jazeera, Press TV, Yahoo, BBC, etc. None of the links are my own - I just borrowed them from the above sites and correlated them with my images. From time to time I use images that are not mine as a reference to an event, and I also state under the images “this IMAGE is NOT mine!”

From now on I feel I can no longer choose to use Flickr to express any political or social issues in our own or global society, but rather any images I post must come from behind very dark thick glasses I have put on my eyes and heart. I assume you would like me to join those who believe that there is indeed nothing wrong with our mother earth, no wars, no killings, no bombs, no orphans, no raping, everybody lives in peace and harmony, all politicians are blameless hard working people; and that is what photographers always see and capture in their images.

Please let me know if I can keep older images and associated links on Flickr or should I block the comments; as your threat to delete my account without my notification has left me feeling deeply concerned?

I await your response.
