A "Lifer"; and an extremely rare visitor...in fact the first time this Egret has ever been reported in Ontario. To clarify; it had been reported in this area about 2 weeks ago; then it disappeared; much to the chagrin of many birders and avian photographers.
I was on my way to Eganville, ON to photograph Bald Eagles when I got a call from fellow PBaser Hank v/v advising that the Little Egret was on the Ottawa River near one of our favourite photography sites. I turned around and went into Ottawa. Thanks to Hank; I am able to post this image. I understand that thanks to Hank's generosity; people came from as far away as Hamilton, ON (about 500 Km).
