Anhingas or Snake Birds

These birds look like they are possessed by the devil and could give you nightmares. Look at the evil smile on the one on the left. And, the ghoulish feet.

Beautiful sharp image of this pair Coleen. Nice setting and sky too.

I sometimes see flocks of them in the bayou diving for fish. I've seen pictures where they have been trained to catch fish. A string is tied around their throat so that they can't swallow the fish and then the trainer gets the fish for himself which I think is very unfair to the bird!

I agree, they certainly are not a very attractive bird!

Not the most handsome birds, but they must have their place, Your photo is so good, it should be in a bird book.

Can they "walk on water"? Nicely captured!

These are certainly strange birds. Amazing that they grip on branches with those feet.

They do look a bit odd Coleen.
