Solitary

Sorry I have not been so active lately, the wind was knocked out of my sails for a while.
I was dragged into a lawsuit of which I had no interest or anything to gain. I had to furnish the defense about 2,000 of my photos taken since 2008 and then go through a grueling deposition. Then, I was subpoenaed for the trial, which thankfully was settled only hours before the trial began. I still had nothing to gain of the $75 million suit.
My enthusiasm for my photography was slammed. I was emotionally and physically worn out.
However, I have learned one thing, one big thing that I sort of knew from my days in journalism--pictures do not lie. At least mine didn't because I do very little photoshop. I had to review each photo with the defense attorneys and say whether or not they had been altered. And, I was glad to see Big Oil lose. They've done enough damage to the environment.
Hopefully, I will get back to the spirit of my photography soon.

A beautiful serene image Coleen. Sounds like you went through quite the ordeal. Glad you were at least pleased with the final outcome.

A lovely, peaceful scene. Just the thing to soothe a soul that has been battered by greedy corporations!

Sad to think for caring about this world we live in you can be drawn into something like that...I'm pleased it's all over, but sorry that it has worn you down. Take all the time you need to recover...I'm sure photos like this beauty will help. V

A superb image! Beautiful work, Coleen.
Sad you had to go through that, and you get back to doing the photography you love most.
