Yesterday morning started off well, but shortly after 2:30pm for some inexplicable reason my blood sugar crashed and I began going into diabetic shock. First, I lost bowel control, then bladder control, then my legs buckled underneath me. Ordinarily mom and dad would rub honey or karo syrup on my gums if they suspected low blood sugar, but I ate well earlier in the day so that was the last thing they suspected.
They rushed me to the vet's office and I received intravenous glucose injections to counter the low sugar. That turned things around quick and after eating some high-caloric wet food, I was able to go home.
Things went well today. I took dad outside several times for a short walk, drank "big girl water" from the sink, and then took a nap beside mom's cabbage patch doll, Little Mary Rose.
