This old slat-back chair was provided with
a cowhide bottom, likely by the chair-maker.
It stands beside the pulpit in a Primitive
Baptist Church in south Georgia. Two to three
inches have been worn from the post yet it is
tight still - proof of the craftsman's skill.
Notice the wear on the front rungs - many feet
have rested there.
