Crested Caracara

Caracara cheriway

I decided to blow up one of my images of the caracara to show how reptilian in appearance they are. Their face, to me, looks like something out of Jurassic Park. Perhaps a distant relative of velociraptors.

Cool find. I agree with your view on their appearance. there's not confusing the evolutionary lineage there. Poor little lizard. :(
