The guidebook said Indonesian food had been adopted as Dutch since the days of trading with the spice island. I saw allot of India places as well, but having tried that cuisine in Portland, I did not try it here.
This place was full even at the opening time during the weekend, so I book this on my last night in Amsterdam, and refrained from eating much during the day, thinking this was more of a buffet.
The folks at both my right and left tables asked me if I was having rijsttafel, which I was, but then they did not order it! I noticed a higher ranking restaurant in Trip Adviser but decided to keep my reservation here, based on more on the negative reviews , and all of these had quite a few postive reviews.
It was good if rather expensive. It is the only time I have had it so I could not compare.
Neat record store across the street, but closed by the time I finished (started?) my meal.
(Listed in Lonely Planet's Southern Canal Belt section)
I finished my night by going to a recommended brown cafe that was closed earlier in the day
