As you know, we’re old and decrepit. We rarely go out anywhere in the evening beyond the local gusher so tonight, when we were kicking back after a difficult week, we broke out the record player. The reason? DM got a bit of security tape stuck to his back by a colleague who proceeded to sing “tape me I’m yours” to him, thinking it was a hilarious joke.

The resultant ear worm needed expunging so I had a rummage and found the “A giant step sideways” album and played said song…then another couple of songs from the album, then a couple from Cool for Cats…then onto two from “Repeat when necessary”, then “New boots and panties” – if you’re of a certain age you’ll realise where this is going.

Anyway, at around 1am we finally stopped dancing and went to bed, I have no doubt to the immense relief of the neighbours. Who ever said we were old fogies – we can get down late into the night with the best of them. Who needs to paint the town when you can paint your own sitting room?
