Donna Usher Paintings #1

Downingtown, PA

The new Downingtown Library now has two areas of artwork created by two renowned local artists, Adrian Bernard Martinez and Donna Usher.

From the Internet:
"A Downingtown native has come full circle in her life as an artist, rewarding one of the sources of her inspiration as a young child with the donation of an inspiring work of art for future generations.

Longtime local artist Donna Usher, whose numerous masterpieces have been exhibited throughout the world, has donated her painting triptych titled
“Nature’s Connections” to the new Downingtown Library, according to a press release.

“I spent many hours in the Downingtown Library as a child, so I am very pleased to have my artwork in the permanent collection,”
Usher said in the article. “I hope that this painting triptych, ‘Nature’s Connections,’ will inspire and delight future generations as they arrive at the new Downingtown Library.”

The acrylic work first debuted at the L.G. Tripp Gallery in Philadelphia to an outstanding review and will be showcased at the new facility’s ribbon-cutting ceremony April 17.
Each of its three pieces measures 40 inches by 120 inches.

“‘Nature’s Connections’ is about the connectivity found within nature from the spiral nebulae to the spiral of a chambered nautilus.
This awareness is visually expressed through painted references to nature’s rhythms, patterns, colors, shapes and textures, which form the compositions of the paintings.
It is through this contemplation of the sublime beauty of the natural universe that we find our peace and comfort.”
