Nomada Bee Cuckoo Bee

Davenport, Lincoln Co, Washington

There are a lot of species of Nomada bees in this area and I rarely get them identified to species. These bees are called 'cuckoo' because they lay their eggs in the nests of other bees where their own larvae feed on the store of pollen collected by the host. The adults visit flowers to feed on nectar but do not have hairs on the legs or abdomen to collect pollen.
