Wild birds seek out the alligator farm to raise their young. Any egg predator has to pass through a gauntlet of alligators to get to their young. Here is a tree arising from the alligator swamp, that is filled with nesting birds. Different species nest at different levels, determined by pecking order. At the lowest, just above the alligators heads are the Tricolor herons, followed by roseate spoonbills, egrets, and woodstorks at the topmost desirable branches.
Yes the alligators will happily eat the adult birds if they are unwary.
