HAYNES DESCRIPTION:
The merger between Morris and the Nuffield Group resulted in the formation of the British Motor Corporation and among the first models to be improved were, the Austin A55 Cambridge and the Morris Oxford. The introduction of Farina styling meant that BMC had virtually new car on offer. The Morris Oxford VI was launched in 1962. Lower spring rates and the availability of a two-tone paintwork gave a more sporty feel and look. The Morris Oxford was finally phased out in 1971 to be replaced by the Morris 1800. The VI was the last Morris Oxford to be produced, the model name now covering a period of almost 60 years.
