The Auburn takes its name from its birth place in Indiana, USA. The stylish bodywork which made it an instant success on the Hollywood’s Boulevards, with its pointed tail and its ‘V’ shaped wind shield, was the work of Gordon M. Buehrig. Its 4596cc, straight eight engine, was designed by E.L.Cord and developed 98bhp at 3400rpm, driving through a 3 speed gearbox and dual ratio rear axle. Each car was tested by ‘Ab’ Jenkins to ensure that it did over 100.8mph.
