In 1946 Ken Adams, Captain of HMCS Uganda, (and later a Rear-Admiral) brought his ship into Maple Bay BC (his home town) to show the residents that he had 'made good'. He took the opportunity to photograph the ship's crew - here is the Wardroom group. During the downsizing of the navy when so many officers were released he became a commercial fisherman and tug skipper - so he knew the BC coast like the back of his hand. He went back into the navy for the Second World War. I wonder if any other skipper would even dare to bring such a huge ship into such a small confined space washed by strong currents?
