Pigeon house

Met up with a photographer friend and she took me exploring.
This ruined pigeon house in on the lands of a large estate in mid-Louth.
We also got to see the beagles and hounds belonging to the local hunt,
not that I'm in favour of fox hunting.

That's interesting; I've never heard of a pigeon house before. I know that some people keep racing pigeons (a practice that has been dying out down here for the last few decades) but the only ones I've ever seen here were kept in coops rather than anything like this. (Or at least I imagine was its intended use.) It's interesting to see pieces of lost lifestyles from other places.

I like the isolation of the pigeon house in the middle of the empty field. Great wide angle shot with beautiful ligh. V.

What an interesting find and composition. This sure is in a wide open area and beautiful sunny day too! V

What a cute pigeon house, although I think they would be jealous if the saw the "pigeon condos" in Doha ;-). Excellent composition, Margaret. V.

Very nicely composed. I like the way it sits there in the middle of the bare field. "V"
