Yes folks, it swallowed the whole thing. Well, first the top half, then what you see; hips, rump, feet, tail and all. It took quite a while before it was finally swallowed.

A few of us had been watching this barred owl when all of a sudden it took off and plucked this Chipmunk from a tree cavity. It then, after initially enduring a noisy flock of Crows, proceeded to enjoy lunch. Gruesome, for sure, but it too has to eat.
