1928 Franklin Airman

Saratoga Automobile Museum - Saratoga Springs, New York

Once owned by Charles Lindberg. On May 29, 1927... a Franklin motor car (was presented) to Captain Charles Lindberg "in appreciation for your demonstration of an air-cooled engine in a non-stop transatlantic flight." The Franklin was powered by an air cooled engine.
The Franklin Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles in the United States between 1902 and 1934 in Syracuse, New York.
Throughout its history, Franklin was a luxury brand and competed with other upscale automobiles of the day. As such, it fell victim to the Great Depression along with many luxury car manufacturers. The company sold about 150,000 cars over the course of more than 30 years in existence. Source: Wikipedia
