The road leading to the Cove was bathed in ice and hoar frost. All was covered in crystalline white. The floor of the Cove, however, was not. All the ice and frost was above the base of the mountains. I guess a small temperature inversion kept the floor warmer than the road which, for the most part, is lower than the floor of the Cove.
