As the sun came over the sandstone ridges at the Mainland Ice Caves the rock walls themselves were still in shadow. 100 yards out on the surface of Lake Superior Occasionally different shaped sheets of ice were standing as vertical sentinels. The sunshine reached these first and I worked to make some cool images.
