What can you buy for a fistful of Euros? Well not much in Cornwall – in fact, these Euros cost me not just the equivalent in pounds sterling but also six quid for the privilege of buying them using my bank’s debit card. That’s a bit rich. Note to self: next time, nip round the corner, get the money out of the bank in cash and then use the cash for the purchase. I had no idea I would be charged, perhaps naively.

Anyway, there isn’t much you can do in Cornwall with this lot, so I might just have to go somewhere that you can use them…OK then, I don’t mind if I do! In just a little more than a day in fact.
