I had some fun today. Our local library branch has started an innovation lab. One of the gadgets they have is a 3D printer. I took their little training course and did a design of a piece that is used to hold up our Rummikub boards (we were missing two of them). So I got some time to run the printer and sure enough it worked. It is like a glue gun on a 3D matrix. It extrudes PLA (poly lactic acid) which is a thermoplastic and makes these pieces. It worked out pretty well. I might have to try something else some time.
