It almost looks like a face, with the rectangular engravings as the eyes and the glassy bit being a gaping may. There's a feeling of ambiguity about whether it's being effusively welcoming, or warning you off.

I think I would have stepped back and shot the whole door, portrait style. This is much more effective. The burnt out bulb really adds to the whole.
