Haemorhous cassinii
Many of our Cassin's Finches are beginning to show a few pinkish feathers. These are males that
hatched last year, and are undergoing their first molt into adult male feathers. You can see a
tinge of pink on this bird's side, and the feathers in his malar region are
taking on a pinkish tinge as a few new feathers start growing in.
