Waiting their turn

Ir's very busy at the bird feeders these days so this trio
were waiting their turn.
And this, I realise, is about as good (or bad) as it gets for me regarding wildlife photography.
I don't have the patience to sit stalking birds all day nor the money to buy super zooms. It is one area, where size does matter, but I console myself that I wouldn't be able to carry those 500mm lens anyway.

Nikon D7000
1/100s f/5.6 at 200.0mm iso640 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I agree with you about birding. Not for me. I already get sore shoulders from slinging the DSLR all day. And I can't bring myself to spend the $$. Cute shot here... tweety birds.

Lovely trio of sparrows, and a fine composition too.

Sometimes it's not the size that counts but the composition...and you have created a lovey bird photo with these three! V

I've always enjoyed these chirpy little sparrows too. A nice shot of these three.

Really a pretty shot though! Nice composition and color, and the subjects are nicely separated from the background.

Love little sparrows, they are so cheeky in our feeder and totally annoy the bigger birds :)
Lovely shot... v

Toffee: "Speak for yourself, hoomin."
It's a nice arrangement, and the out of focus trees behind make a decent backdrop.
The upcoming 300mm f/4 for your E-M5/my E-M1 will give you 600mm equivalence in a size and weight that would more typically be a 70-200 on larger systems. But of course there's the cash issue there. (I doubt tit will be cheap but probably not in the 5 figure range of your typical 600mm lenses either.)

It's a charming capture of these sparrows, and I do sympathize with your feelings. V.
