My wife and I visited Sandy Point State Park to see if the Chesapeake Bay was frozen over. It was bitterly cold and I was ill-prepared to make the most of all of the photo opportunities. In the small sections of unfrozen Bay waters, there were loads of Canvasbacks, Scaups, Buffleheads, etc. The Sandy Point Shoals Lighthouse has an interesting background dating back to the 1880's.
