Bucharest has some lovely French neoclassical buildings, many in a sad state of repair like this one across the road from the hotel.
Some are being restored but many are being torn down and replaced with concrete boxes. It would be fun to see inside some of these great houses.
I ended the day at a cocktail reception hosted by the British Ambassador at his residence in a lovely restored villa, like this one could be.
