In touch, Cave Creek, Arizona, 2015

I found this fellow wrapped in the glow of his cell phone as he relaxes behind the bull chutes. The diagonal railing and folding chair echo the diagonal thrust of his arms. He holds his phone diagonally in one hand, while his thumb moves diagonally to his chin.

Photography is often defined by time itself. We freeze moments in time. And we also can express time as it passes. As you say, Tim, this is one of those images that defines the passage of time as time in transition. Thanks for noting that aspect of this image.

I love the transition of time time here. In my mind the rodeo speaks of the Old West - but here it is in the time of small hand-held screens.
