Ichneumonid wasp and sawflies

Larose Forest

This wasp landed amongst the sawfly larvae who immediately went into a defensive mode. Although I watched for some time, I didn't notice the wasp making any attempt to attack. However, I moved on, so not sure what happened after. I don't know which species this wasp may be, as identifying Ichneumonids (with a few exceptions) I leave to the experts.

wonderful shot...the wasp's wings are so clearly delineated...looks as if the sawflies are gobbling up the leaf...

I would go into a defensive mode if I saw that wasp anywhere near me! Excellent clarity here. V.
